Omo sebua is a traditional house in Nias Island located at Indonesia. This house are located at centre village and stayed by the village's chief. This house built on ironwood piles and have high roof "towering roof".

ASAL USUL

Asal usul adalah gugusan pulau yang jumlahnya mencapai 132 pulau. Pulau ini terletak di sebelah barat pantai Sumatera menghadap Samudra Hindia. Pulau nias ini mempunyai luas 9.550 km persegi. Pulau Nias adalah diantara pulau-pulau yang paling padat dan menjadi pusat kegiatan ekonomi dan pemerintahan (Koestoro, Wiradyana 2007).

Pulau ini terkenal dengan budaya megalitikya dan menyimpan beberapa misteri serta keunikan tersendiri. Termasuk asal usul penduduk asal pulau ini iaitu orang Nias. Penduduk orang ini iaitu orang Nias menggelar diri mereka sebagai ono niha (orang Nias). Orang Nias ini telah dikaji oleh antropologi dan arkeologi dan terbukti bahawa orang Nias adalah salah satu puak-puak ygn tertua di Nusantara. Terdapat beberapa versi mengenai asal usul orang Nias saat ini, yang bersumber dari hoho ( cerita lisan yang berkembang di masyarakat Nias dan diwariskan secara turun temurun (menyerupai mitos).

This house can reach up to 20m. The roof are covered with palm leaves, although the use of tin is getting more popular'

The light multi-storey roof construction is resting on 2 main pillars in the North and Middle type , and on sidewalls in South Nias.

Minimissing material is the most important issue of this intelligent construction. The large overhangs protect the wooden connnections from rain and give additional space outside.
